It's nearly May!

So this weekend, Jon and I drove to Gardner White to test out mattresses.  (This shopping trip made possible by my sometimes overly generous parents who wouldn't accept my, No, you've helped us plenty...and basically made us take the check they wrote me. A good problem to have, but I'm going to feel so crappy when they need some help and I am still too broke to help.)

We ended up about $150 over budget...but $120 of it was to buy a frame that fits a queen size mattress (my current headboard/footboard fits both full and queen but the frame I have is for a full size so it would be too narrow and short to support a queen size mattress. And the rest was to buy a mattress protector thingy so that the extra warranty we opted for (if mattress fails within 10 years we get a free replacement so long as it has a mattress protector thingy on it so I said, um, yeah go for it...I believe our current mattress is under ten years old and it sucks.)  So not too bad, all in all.

Since my Serta didn't seem to last very long, I figured we'd try something different. We got a Beauty Rest...its nice and firm and cushy. I can't wait until it gets here. Have to wait until next Saturday due to stupid delivery men not being able to peg down a time.  We told them no one would be home until at least 5 pm during the week and the sales guy was all like, we can't narrow it down. Um...that sucks.

They are going to deliver the mattress and take the old stinky one and the old stinky box spring with them for free. I really hope the delivery guys aren't too squeamish. That mattress has had some adventures.  And it shows. The mattress protector died and I never replaced it so, the mattress has met with some things like cat pee from when my cat met Emma and didn't approve and instead held her bladder until an explosion happened.  And, it has met with several monthly accidents and various fluids which are yep, disgusting. But it does save me the trouble of figuring out what to do with a nasty old mattress and box springs. What these guys do with them, I don't know.

And the frame is coming from the magic internet world because the stores only sell bolt on frames and my headboard and footboard would have to be different and have hooks.  So who knows when that will get here. If not at the same time as the mattress, oh well, new box spring can sit on the floor for  a while.

Otherwise today, I ate tasty Indian food from Namaste Flavours...and drank some tasty Ohio wine that Jon had the foresight to buy the day I was puking up my innards when I sent him to the store for some Gatorade.

Stomach is doing much better this weekend. Finally!  Not up to stuffing it chock full but spicy things and wine don't bother it.

Have been much less weak and tired as well. But then, I did nap after work on Friday and yesterday I went to bed with a terrible headache, then woke up, still with killer headache and went back to bed. I vaguely remember Jon asking me on and off over the course of several hours if I was ok. I remember telling him no and that I thought I was going to die of exploding brain.  The pills just weren't working.  I did finally sleep...for around 12 hours. A record for me, really, but I probably needed the rest.

I have also discovered a soap that doesn't irritate my nether parts and smells nice and isn't to girly for Jon, surprisingly. He actually said he liked the new soap, so Yardley of London's Oatmeal and Almond soap it is.  I did notice it contains a lot less ingredients that I couldn't pronounce so probably whatever chemical  is in the soaps that irritate my tender bits isn't even in there.  Wish I could narrow it down without have nasty surprises.

Back to work tomorrow.  At least I got a compliment from the Plastic Man who did tell me the manager and assistant manager both tell him I'm doing an awesome job as Receiver. Never heard anything good come out of his mouth in regards to me before. Asshole.  Now. GIVE ME MY RAISE!

I got the go ahead to get a guinea pig if I decide I want one from Jon.  I kind of still do want one, I wonder if Vincent would want one...

I also got the go ahead to get more aquatic snails. I really wanted to put them in like a fish bowl or something so that I could keep them clean-er than Jon keeps the fish tanks but apparently snails require 2.5 gallons of water apiece!!!!! Or so sayeth this cool website: http://www.applesnail.net/.    We had golden and black mystery snails at one point. I thought they were cool, but apparently we did many many things wrong and so they died. Water too dirty, no calcium in the water, didn't leave enough air at the top of the tank (they breathe air!)...and so forth.  So I don't know if we'll get more or not.  Jon would have to keep the  Fishy tank cleaner.  Maybe, one day, the remaining goldfish will die and I can use his tank for snails/plants. We shall see. I really don't want to start another large tank going. Large meaning over 5 gallons, at least to me.  Not that I really want the goldfish to die.  We've had him for 6 years, now, I think and Jon was really sad when his friend died over the winter.  I guess 6 years is pretty old for feeder goldfish, which is what they both were.
