Well, here goes day one at trying a menstrual cup.
Had no problems inserting it, but it feels a bit weird in. Probably just that I haven't managed to insert it quite correctly or perhaps that it is wider around than my vagina, which it definitely is. I'm little, apparently. So I kind of figure that its just a different kind of weird than wearing a tampon, which is also a kind of weird. I've just gotten used to ignoring that kind of weird over the years.
And, actually, I've been wearing it only an hour or so.
It was time to try something different since I have found I have some sort of horrible allergy to tampons these days and I really don't like pads. I have lots of trouble with leakage while wearing pads. Lots. And even had lots of trouble with leakage with tampons as well. Neither really handles giant surges of fluid which happens to me quite regularly, unfortunately. So I looked into the menstrual cup and found it interesting that there wasn't this huge annoyance of going to the store and buying increasingly expensive tampons and that its not something I can become allergic to.
This is a horrible allergy. Like itching, burning and constant discomfort. To pee, I had to seriously go out and buy Desitin so that my urine couldn't come into contact with the rampant allergic reaction that when urine did manage to contact, made me cry it stung so badly.
If all goes well then I have found a solution. Time will tell.
